Reno+Decor wraps up another successful IDS Toronto

IDS show 2024

By Jessica Cinnamon

IDS Toronto 2024 recently concluded another successful year. I was honoured to be asked by Reno+Decor magazine to design the booth this year.

“Livable luxury” is what we create for our clients, and we wanted to design a booth that showcases this concept for everyone to experience and enjoy. We were thrilled to partner with Calligaris, as the company’s modern furniture is the epitome of livable luxury. The furniture and sculptural chandelier we sourced from Calligaris all have modern clean lines, but also an inviting warmth with their fabrics, wood details and organic shapes.

We also had the opportunity to partner with The Wooden Tradition for our custom paneling and built-ins that feature our signature style of elevated materials and textures. Our booth walls were lined with custom oak paneling and integrated lighting. The subtleties within the lighting design and fabrication intricacies give that extra layer if depth and interest. The Wooden Tradition also crafted our beautiful leather wrapped cabinet in the dining area. Many visitors came into the booth to lounge on the sofa, sit at the table and to admire the custom craftsmanship.

I would like to give a huge thank you to Unik Parquet for letting us be the first in Canada to show one of its new hardwood products coming out this year. Thank you, as well, to Weaver’s Art for the beautiful hand knotted rug. Building and creating beautiful spaces takes a team of dedicated and knowledgeable professionals. Our booth was a success because of all the collaboration and teamwork from everyone involved.

Over the course of the show, I was elated with the amount of homeowners that attended to speak with me about their design dilemmas. Many visitors brought their floorplans and came prepared with very specific questions, while others came to discuss future projects they would like to undertake. It was lovely meeting so many fellow designers, industry professionals and homeowners that all share an interest and passion for interior design.
