Edmonton’s best renovators were among those feted on March 16 at the 2024 Canadian Home Builders’ Association-Edmonton Region (CHBA-ER) Awards of Excellence in Housing gala, held at the Edmonton Convention Centre.
Featuring a diverse array of 67 categories spanning single-family homes, multi-family, infill, renovation and environmental awards, among others, the awards showcased outstanding achievements in the local residential construction industry.
Ackard Contractors Ltd. was named Renovator of the Year, as the nearly 40-year-old renovation firm also won Best Exterior Renovation and Best Renovations $150,000 to $300,000. This marks the 11th time Ackard Contractors has won the Renovator of the Year Award.
“We haven’t won this for a couple years and last year we didn’t get any awards,” said Richard Plamondon, a partner at Ackard. “It’s great for the team to be recognized for all the hard work they put in this year and the great client projects we get to work on. Not winning has pushed us to be better and we feel that this past year has been an exceptional one.”
