Hello summer
The thought of the warm sun on my face and long summer evenings spent entertaining outside, instantly puts my soul at ease. I have always been a sun worshipper, and with my love of colourful decor, the summer season is a mix of my most happy emotional state and joyful decorating experiences.
It’s a pleasant surprise to see how outdoor living has evolved in all parts of Canada. Our need for the great outdoors has fueled our desire to have as much beauty in our living spaces outside as we do inside. From sprawling country properties to quaint city flats, there is something bright and cheery this summer season for everyone to enjoy in home decor and entertaining.
I can say with certainty that when it comes to outdoor colour palettes to decorate your space, blue and green are generally fan favourites. Truthfully, it’s a winning combo that instantly puts me into that fresh summer relaxation mode that we all crave. If you consider yourself braver on the colour front, florals are the queen of wallpaper this year. Incorporating a bold paper into any room is sure to give the space a warm welcoming environment year-round.
Summer entertaining is a specialty in my family, so I know we all appreciate the effortless style of durable materials and cheery colour palettes that allow us to easily throw together a gorgeous outdoor barbecue. This year, we will be hosting a large backyard soirée in celebration of our son’s engagement, and I plan to party in style with some of my favourite outdoor entertaining essentials.
